The history of Front Royal is that there was once a Royal Oak tree that visiting officers were required to solute.  This became known as “fronting the royal oak”, which is where the name Front Royal supposedly came from.  There are several other local businesses with the “Royal Oak” name.

This history of this building is that of restaurants.  Most recently it was the 14^th Street Bistro.  Prior to that it was occupied by other restaurants.

Our history is that w opened Cork Street Tavern, in Winchester, in 1985.  Since then we have opened Spring House Tavern in Woodstock.  We strive to make each location a part of the community.  We hope to become a piece of the Front Royal history, and you will become a part of ours.
